Hi, I'm Ruth, or Ruthie as I’m known to many, and I love spending time in nature and getting creative. I’m at my happiest when I’m out and about looking for natural materials that I can turn into special handcrafted pieces for my wonderful customers. 

Where it all began

 I have always been someone who likes to ‘collect’ or ‘forage’ for things when outside in nature and when I’m not outside, I can often be found doodling away (no real agenda in mind, just freehand doodling and seeing what ends up on the page!). 

I began painting pebbles and creating pebble art frames as a hobby alongside my full time job, often making gifts for family and friends. I was encouraged by them to share my designs and began to promote and sell my makes towards the end of 2018.

I began with an Etsy shop which to date has over 1,100 sales and 150 five star reviews, along side taking orders from customers who approached me via word of mouth and other people. I enjoyed creating items and sharing with people so much that I was keen to take this a step further, hence setting up my website and online shop in order to grow my business.

 After working in the public sector for a number of years, alongside experiencing a couple of low points in relation to my mental well-being, at the beginning of 2020 I decided to take the plunge and focus solely on my creative business and spending more time outdoors – a scary prospect at the time but something I absolutely do not regret. 

I feel crafting and creating things is a therapy for me and I love the way it helps us to switch off from the world and focus mindfully on the task at hand. I am keen on promoting positive well-being and know from experience how doing something creative can help your mind. The majority of my work focuses on nature, natural materials and also positive quotes and uplifting statements.

My biggest supporters

I live in Staffordshire with my wonderful, supportive husband, James, and my crazy but very lovable Border Collie, Todd. I’d love to say that Todd helps with my creations, but he’s often found asleep under my desk or just hounding me to take him on yet another walk! He is my best companion and is always there for me to chat to or moan at when things don’t quite go to plan…despite him not understanding a word and thinking he will cheer me up with one of his many play toys.

My work 

As you will see from the shop section of my website, I create a range of frames containing pebble art and sea glass art, hand painted stones, decoupaged gift ware and more. Many of my items can be personalised to add that unique touch.

I can create bespoke items for birthdays and anniversaries, weddings and engagements, mother’s and father’s day as well as new home gifts. If there is something you are after that you don’t see on here, just drop me a message via the ‘Contact’ page and I will do my very best to assist. 

Each framed creations is carefully handcrafted using natural materials meaning no two pieces are the same. The shape and colour of pebbles and sea glass will vary slightly from the pictures shown but will all be as beautiful. Painted stones are hand painted using acrylic paint and are spray glazed for protection. Decoupaged items are created using a high quality chalk paint and a variety of patterned wraps before being varnished for protection. 

All items are gift wrapped in pink tissue paper as standard and a small handwritten gift message of your choice can be added, at no extra cost, to give that personal touch. Just add your note at the checkout and I will pick it up from there.
